I'm following the space shooter tutorial and I'm trying to create the game over and restart texts for the game and it gives me this error in the console

this is word for word script from the tutorial other than "using UnityEngine.UI;" because I needed it to make the text for the game controller with the newer version of Unity.
If anybody got past this part with the most recent Unity i would appreciate the help.
